Josh Wilde is a commercial photographer who went from freelance jobs to assistant jobs, all the while learning about commercial photography. He acted as a practice portfolio reviewer who looked over my Vanitax series. he saw my intention and said the messages behind the imagery were visible as well as provided me with a variety of compliments. His only criticism was to bring light to certain shadowed or darkened areas but also recognised the possible differences between prints and online images. His advice ranged from not being discouraged when companies and studies inevitably turn you down as well as take pride in your work so the finished products are the best that they can be. His final advice was to not stop, to get your camera and take as many pictures as you want. It’s not just a way to get recognised but also to enjoy the art form and experiment with as many genres as you can.
