The Leeds based studio is comprised of multiple teams, each having different specialities from photography to production to food design and more. Founded in 1999 with the intention of creating a friendly environment to take on commissions and now take on large-name brands. Richard White started off taking on cheap work in London but didn’t get paid work until he stepped in for an ill photographer. He left the company to pursue freelance as his ex-boss sent him commission work, showcasing the importance of keeping connections. When digital photography took off, White taught himself how to operate the new technology. Now, PowerHouse has begun using AI-generated imagery to stay with the modern times. After taking on many roles, White still prefers to be behind the camera. He listed useful lessons to remember including maintaining contacts, stay learning, adapt, take as many opportunities as possible and take pride in your work.
