Vicky Carr, a graphic designer from Textbook Studios, spoke about website development. In 2007, Vicky met with her current colleague and worked towards a degree. In 2011, she became self-employed starting Textbook. She worked in The Engine House, a converted mill which over time transformed into a collaborative space. Carr said to go to events and make connections/friends to further get commission works. Risks also make you or your business stand out and attract clients. She pointed out important factors to remember when constructing a website. The text shouldn’t be bold or in italics as they’re too distracting. She also to avoid free sites such as Wix as they typically spam emails.
